It's a Party

As you may see in my last post I mentioned the great adventure I would have going into Angers! Wrong! It ends up that we were just going to Angers to go to a HUGE mega store called Carrefour that was attached to a sort of Mini mall. It was nice because I got to buy a new mic for skyping (my other one crapped out on me) But we litterally turned into the first parking structure, right off the free way. I didn't see the city at all. And what's more is that we packed all our goodies in the car and they ask "Do you want to go to Lunch?", "Sure!" I say and they walk straight back from whence we came and go to a little buffet type place called "Flunch"....now that's funny. The food was good but it wasn't anything special. Mr. Kept joking about going to McDonalds which was right next to the mega store. He'd grab my hand and start marching in that direction...he thinks he's funny :) So I didn't take photos of the Mega store, no photos. (the one above is of Chateau Bas, the lower Chateau, currently occupied by another Scottish family)

This morning I was woken up by the rain pounding on the roof, it woke me up maybe 2 hours before I was to go to work, I was annoyed. It ended up that I only had to do the Indoor pool...because it was raining...so I got to watch some CNN (one of three channels here that is in English) and I saw a special about Gustav Klimt, my favorite artist, and about child labor in India, seriously I feel so much more cultured now that I don't have the option of watching anything other than world news! Not that I sit in front of the tv all day.

When I Did get to cleaning the outdoor pool, I can across my first dead animal in the filter! (Insects don't count) it was some kind of small rodent, I'm guessing a rat, but I didn't look into it too much before I dumped the poor thing, needless to say i was a little freaked and less eager to looking into the other filter...thankfully there was only one casualty.

It is a Party over at Chateau Vary! 6 of the 7 cottages/apartments are occupied and they all have kids, babies and tots all over the place! Maybe some of them will talk to me, oh now I just sound pathetic. But I'm thinking with more people around I'll be forced into proximity with many of them. Speaking of Proximity, The Upper Chateau that is currently occupied is just below my apartment. The floor with their bedrooms is just one thin door and a flight of steps down from my bedroom and bathroom. Yesterday when I went down there to take pictures of the wall paper for Darcie I had some music playing at mid level, but I could hear it clear as day all throughout the upper chateau...so that puts a damper on my listening to podcasts at 1am. So today when they arrived I could hear every word they said as if they were in the room with me....and they have a little toddler who I'm afraid is going to climb the steps and open my door out of curiosity while I'm half naked combing my hair or something. I'm sure this fear is unfounded but wouldn't you be worried? Anyways I played some music while I took a shower this afternoon just to give them a little warning of "You can hear me, so guess what!" I don't want to be hearing anything I shouldn't. awkward.

So there are 7 kids here this week, and then there will be 10 next week, which means GAMES! yaaaaay. That should bring back memories of being a counselor sufficiently, only this is dealing with kids ages 4 - 14 and not 12-14. we'll figure something fun out.

Love to all!

( too the left you see Luca, he's 12, he doesn't live at the Chateau like the other tow dogs, he lives with Frederique's family, but he chills with us sometimes)
