Today I went to "Super U" to get some shopping done with Mr. Suave. The size and purpose of Super U is similar to that of Wal-mart. It's very odd because it's right outside this beautiful small village called Bauge, small winding cobble stone streets, old houses and apartments. foot wide side walks....SUPER U!

So among other things, I purchased a cheapy little digital Camera. It was in my price range and it looks pretty hip, it's just the function that it just a little behind the times. No worry, no I can show YOU all what this beautiful place looks like, and that excites me.

Today was actually a very frustrating day communication wise and...well Mechanically. The tractor that I was to use for cutting the grass ended up having a flat tire, so we got out the old crappy tractor and after going through the motions at least 3 times to start the mower and having it fart out on me, I decided to give in and wait till tomorrow to mow that particular part of the property. The frustrating thing is that I couldn't properly communicate what exactly was going wrong with the mower, I think they knew though, it must have happened to them before. But it ended up being one of those "swear in a couple different languages and through your sweatshirt across the room" kind of moments. It's tough when you live at your job, in the middle of no where...in a foreign country...where no one understands you and visa versa. I mean I'm a very patient person and I've been patient with myself and with others as far as the language barrier goes, but today I just cracked and really didn't want to deal with anyone anymore, so I kind of locked myself away in the tower and listened to Adam Carolla and played Solitare...I'm still avoiding speaking to anyone.

I also bought some cheap and awesome shoes at the Super U, they're a size to big for me, so I'll probably give them as a gift to someone with big feet when I return....and also buy myself a pair that fits, they're really awesome shoes, they look like Toms, only they cost 6 bucks instead of 60.

I think I'll settle in for a while and watch some American Television. I think that'll help me "Escape" a little. and when i say watch American Television, I mean NOT DUBBED IN FRENCH!

Love to all.

Watching American TV (NOT dubbed in another language) can be the most comforting and relaxing experience ever. In Italy, I would devote my entire Saturday afternoons to watching "My Super Sweet 16" and "Date My Mom" on MTVItalia, because they were sub-titled and not dubbed. I'm pretty sure I'm going to be needing a TV in my apartment in Chile...kind of an extravagance but otherwise I'll constantly be on youTube looking up old episodes of crappy primetime shows just to comfort myself.

I loved reading about your time with Ben (it sounds incredible, like a dream really), but I'm sorry that today was difficult. It seems like one bad day and you can feel so horrible about everything...whereas if you had one bad day in Chicago it would barely affect you. Ugh, that can be so frustrating. You seem to be handling it well though. You are very patient; that's an amazing quality.

I'm really excited to see more pictures!!!

And I love the sound of your new shoes. I want to get Toms before I leave for South America, but they ARE a little pricey...

Love love love, my dear
